Latchezar Boyadjiev and His Glass Sculptures

Capturing light and releasing it throughout the confines of a transparent material has been the longtime vision for many glass artisans. For one artist, the playful dilution of bold colors into the media can add a striking depth to the translucent beauty it possesses.

Latchezar Boyadjiev grew up in Sofia Bulgaria, attending the Academy of Applied Arts for his initial immersion into the creative world. Despite starting off as a cold-glass sculptor who mastered the techniques of cutting, polishing and grinding objects of optical glass, Latchezar in his later years began to lean towards expanding past the limits of these methodologies, choosing to emerge as a cast glass sculptor.

His ethereal creations look almost luminous in their form, even more so when set against bright cascading light which flows through their interiors and livens up the vibrant hues dissolved in their clear compositions.

Latchezar's fame as a glass sculptor is now internationally recognized throughout the global communities, with much of his work being displayed throughout various galleries and museums across the United States and Great Britain.
